Endodontics is a department of dentistry that deals with the pain. Treatments in the field of endodontics are root canal treatment, retreatment of failed root canal treatments, periapical lesion treatment and root canal treatment of teeth with anatomical variations.

In the innermost layer of the tooth, there is a bundle of vessels and nerves called the pulp that feeds the tooth. If the pulp of the tooth is damaged due to reasons such as deep caries, trauma, infection, fracture or crack; root canal treatment should be performed on the relevant tooth.
